"more bwerses pwease."

These are currently my favorite words in the English language! :o)

Since the day Jasper was born, he and I have read the bible together every morning (m-f) during breakfast. I'll read 5-10 verses of Scripture to him, explain what they mean, and then we'll pray and thank God for the Bible and thank Him for the truth that we learned that day (we also ask God to help us to obey His words since we can't do it in our own strength, etc, etc).

Recently, as soon as I get done praying, Jasper pipes up and says, "more bwerses pwease." aka "more verses please." I've prayed and prayed with Jasper and for Jasper that he would be a little boy who loves God and loves the Bible, and God is answering that prayer before my very eyes. And he's barely two years old. Oh my gracious, hearing Jasper ask to hear more Bible verses is the most sweet sound in the world to me and all the praise goes to God for doing this in Jasper's heart.

So after Jasper says, "more bwerses, pwease.", I read more verses, explain them to him, and we pray together. This last week, Jasper has just been asking and asking and asking for more bwerses. I love it!! Our breakfasts now last well over an hour and I'm reading verses, explaining them to Jasper, and praying with Jasper the entire time. We do this during breakfast and lunch and it's so precious to me to be spending so much time in the Bible with Jasper. I thank God for what He's done and continue to beg Him to save Jasper at a young age and grow him into a little boy and then a man who loves God and the bible with his whole heart.

a natalie post

so this is just a post for me. I wish wish wish that I actually wrote in a journal, but I seriously don't have the time to find a pen half the time, so blogging is much easier. I can type WAY faster than I can write.

Anyway, this is a post that's just for my records, b/c there are little moments throughout my life that I don't want to forget, and this is one of them...

I'm so thankful for the Spirit's work in my life and my husband's.

Our ac isn't working and we found that out last night, since it was the first time we turned it on this year (hit 89 degrees yesterday, while Sun it was 40 degrees- crazy Ohio weather).

Anyway, we called Bob, our trusty, handy AC guy.

His associate came and looked at our AC just now and it's the coil that has a leak. We just had Bob replace the coil in Jan of 2012 and the coil cost lots and lots b/c it's a super good one.

Anyway, this super duper coil which we just bought last year, paid for instillation, paid for freon, etc, has a leak, and leaked out all the freon.

The coil is under warranty (coil costs $600) but we still have to pay for replacement freon and Bob's labor to come and replace the faulty coil. Bob said this was the very first faulty "super-duper amazing" coil that he's seen in all his 30-some years of doing this.

yay us.

Bob feels horrible about this (anyone in Columbus need an AC and heater guy?? We wholeheartedly trust and recommend Bob!)

Anyway, Bob feels horrible and said that normally freon and replacing a coil cost $450, but he feels so bad b/c we just paid him last year to do this that he's going to try to keep it at $250 for us.

So understand... this stinks b/c we just paid for all this last year and it's not our fault we got a "faulty" coil.

Anyway, I'm the point man on all this since Andrew's at work. I'm typing up all this to Andrew via text.

Then I send this following text TO Andrew and SIMULTANEOUSLY receive a text FROM Andrew stating almost the same thing (this is the whole point of the blog post!):

me to him-
"So anyway, it's a bummer that it happened in the 1st place, but God is sovereign,  He's given us an opportunity to show love and grace, and I'm thankful it will only be $250 when it could be so much more!"

and simultaneously (I'm not kidding!) got this text from Andrew-
"bummer we got a bad coil, but yay yay yay that it's under warreanty, that Bob is cutting us a great deal, they can do it today, and that we have the money!!"

I loved that God, and only b/c of the work He's done in our lives, has given Andrew and I the same heart and spirit toward this situation (and toward most things in life, in general).

vertical smile

Today, I finally reached my quota with how many times I can see Jasper's vertical smile in an hour and not go crazy. I told him, "Buddy, like it or not, you're gonna have to wear suspenders b/c I can't handle this white trash any more!"

Well, he loves them! They've been the highlight of his (and my) day!

Yay for no more crack! Granted, his shirt keeps riding up all the time due to the suspenders, but I'll take belly over crack, crack, and more crack any day!! (poor guy doesn't have any hips!)

birthday. PAR-dy.

Today was Jasper's 2nd birthday party!!!! I'm too tired to write too much right now, but I wanted to throw up the pics in case I forget to tomorrow.

It was such a fun, special day and such a treat to celebrate with close friends and family!

Jasper has learned how to say "birthday party", except he says it "birthday. PAR-dy" as you will see in the first video.

Mom Meade made an AMAZING firetruck cake!! It was a huge hit!!!

summer days a comin'!

Summer is SOON approaching and we can't wait!!!!

As rainy Spring turns into gorgeous Spring, we can't help but be outside.

We yearn for it.

Jasper's 1st words when he wakes up are "Baber outside!?" and he cries when we have to go inside to get ready for bed. It's official- we've got dirt in our blood and sun in our veins.

This week alone has included 3 different parks, 7 different trips, 3 outdoor lunches, 2 outdoor snacks, 3 park playdates, 1 duck feeding, 1 ice cream trip with friends, a bazillion conversations with neighbors, and a partridge in a pear tree. :o) It has also included Jasper discovering the sprinklers in our neighbors' yards and lots of skinned knees (Jasper's, not mine).

We've had corn on the cob, grilled hot dogs, smores, and ice-cold pop. I've hung towels on the line to get that sweet sun-kissed smell.

We are already getting a good farmer's tan, our fingers are constantly sticky, we have permanent dirt smudges on our knees and elbows, we're sleeping more soundly than ever before, and we smell like grass.

Yep, summer is a comin' and life is good!!!

Highland Metro Park and picnic with Nana

Jasper thinks ALL sprinklers are for his personal enjoyment!

Playing with his huge ball in the alley.

Hangin out with our dear, dear friends, Jim and Chris!

Watching airplanes.
