dat lady

the other morning, we were all sitting around the kitchen table, eating breakfast, and Jasper suddenly says, with much drama,

"Mommy, I'm sad."

and I said, "why are you sad, buddy?"

J- "I'm so sad, because I don't wanna have to live with da lady."

me and andrew look at each other....

Andrew says, "What lady, buddy?"

and J says, "Da lady dat gworifies God."

Andrew and I look at each other some more... thinking for a minute...

then I said, "What lady that glorifies God?"

and Jasper says, "Dat lady dat gworifies God dat I have to live wif when I have to be a man and a weader (aka leader)... (sniff sniff) I... don't... (sniff) wanna... live wif her!"

And he starts bawling.

Ohh!!! Andrew and I look at each other and try not to laugh.

But we failed.

And we laughed.

It was so sweet and Jasper was experiencing so much drama and angst.

and I said, "If you get married? You're saying that when you're big and strong like Daddy, you don't want to get married?"

Jasper answered, "No. I don't wanna get married to dat lady dat gworifies God. I just wanna live wif you forever."

I'll take it, sweet Jasper. I'll take it.

And if he's anything like his father, Jasper actually will live with his parents forever.
(**wink wink**)

tumbling class

Today was Jasper's first day of his Tumbling Class at the Y! It was such a blast, and he was in hog-heaven!! It was so precious! This is the first "class" of any kind we've enrolled him in, and it was really neat for me to be able to be with Jasper and observe him as he listened to the teacher and interacted with the other kiddos. He was so very eager to do exactly what the teacher, Miss Robin, said and to obey her every instruction. It was precious!

He had the following things to say on the way home from class:

- "Miss Robin was so kind. She was a very kind teacher. I'm so thankful that she was so kind to me."

- "My faborite part was the balance bean." (yes, he calls it the balance beaN. melt my heart.)

- "Oh wait. My OTHER faborite part was the parachute."

- "I really enjoyed my class. I'm so 'xcited that I enjoyed the class so much."

- "God is so good to me to give me a tumbling class!"

We can't wait for next Friday!!

Saturday afternoons

we have started a new family tradition every Saturday afternoon, and it's a blast! or, shall I say, a splash!!

haha!! *wink wink*

we go swimming together at the Y!

My dear friend Anita gave Brody a swim suit and swim diapers the other night when I was at her house, so now Brody can join us in the pool!! Before, we would put in him the Y's child center or whatnot... so this was officially his first time swimming! It was so fun!! I gotta tell ya... this is the stuff dreams are made of.

playin' in the mud

While all of my Ohio friends are posting pics on fb of their kiddos playing in the snow, building snowmen, drinking hot chocolate in their cute snowsuits, etc, my kiddos are playing in the mud.

And eating mud.

And the older one feeds the younger one mud. For us, it's all about the mud. :o)

And lest you think otherwise, J and B have this amazing ability to sniff out the muddy-est of the all the mud puddles and plop down right there, refusing to leave.

So... if you can't fight 'em, join 'em. And that's what I did. Hence,,,

we had a great day today with all the oozing mud-ness. :o)

(sin nature combined with nap time- tanrtrums and melt downs)

he loves tubbies now!! :o)
