a sweet Easter

It was such a sweet day today! I love Easter and all that it represents with Christ's death and resurrection, thus making possible the redemption for lost sinners like myself. What a joy to serve a living God!

a whole new level

The littles and I had ladies bible study this morning and then spent the afternoon at a park. As we were stalking the excavator at the park, Jasper said, "Mom, can you please start packing me a snack to eat during ladies bible study?"

I was a little surprised, because I knew bible study provided snacks. So  I said, "Sure, buddy, but I thought they gave you snacks at ladies bible study?"

to which he replied, "They do, but they just give us stuff like crackers and stuff like that. I would prefer to have meat instead. Or beef. Or a beef sandwich."

I blinked. And then smiled. And then laughed. and then blinked again.

My 4 year old wants beef as a snack?!

Oh, boy!! Jasper just brought snacks to a whole new level. No more gettin' by on little broken off pieces of animal crackers or such. We now need meat. Or beef. Or beef sandwiches.

** PS I thought this happened when they were teenagers! Not as 4 year olds!! How did my parents afford to feed all 5 of us kids???**

loud... singing

It's 8:24 am and I'm making the bed, brushing my teeth, praying and reading my Bible, that sort of thing... and the little are in their room, so happy, totally laughing, and singing, "Ho-ho-ho-ho-sanna, ha-ha-ha-hallejuah, he-he-he-he loves me, and I've got the joy of the Lord." at the top of their little boy lungs.

And it's melting my heart.

What precious gifts and what a sweet way to start the day!!

sweet little moment

The other day, I was standing in the hallway folding laundry while Jasper and Brody were playing together in the living room.

All of a sudden, Jasper sprints around the corner of the hallway, races by me, looks up in surprise, and says, "Oh! Hi mom!" without missing a beat or slowing down even for a nano-second.

Brody, Jasper's constant shadow, was right behind him, sprinting as fast as his little legs would go. Following Jasper's lead, Brody races past me, looks up in surprise, and says, "Oh! Hi mom!" without missing a beat or slowing down even for a nano-second.

Both boys disappeared into the playroom where they dove head-first into the toy box to search for their missing block.

The whole scene was a blur and lasted only about 2 seconds, but it was one of those treasured moments that I wish I could bottle up and carry around in my heart for the rest of my life.

It looked a little something like this...

My family, and sweet moments like these, are such blessings from the good hand of God.

fun times!!

We have had SUCH a fun week! Valentine's dates and parties galore on Sunday, playdate at Ashley's house on monday, friends throughout the week, spontaneous zoo trip during afternoon nap time with MB and Henderson, and a Valentine's Day Party at Castle park today!

We are so blessed with so many wonderful people in our life! I'm so thankful for such fun activities to fill our days with. :o)

A few Valentine's Day pictures... We took a 4 hour golf cart ride around PTC, I  made pink heart pancakes, pink apple slices, pink lemonade, and bacon for the boys' Vday dinner, and I made bacon-wrapped fillet mignon, wedge salad, garlic smashed potatoes, sticky cherry cake, and whisky sours for my and Andrew's dinner after the boys went to bed.

A few zoo pics from our wonderful afternoon with MB...

And a few pics from our friends Valentines day party today at Castle Park. There were 13 moms and 30 children there, and it was oh. so. fun!!!

poor brody's overalls fell off.
That was my cue that it was time to go home. ;)

Jasper's so old!

Sweet Jasper boy is growing up! I feel like I've merely blinked and he's all of a sudden a young man!

Last evening, Jasper was chatting with me and Andrew and said that he could push Brody around in the red chair "mighty quick" because he had "powerful hands." His terminology is getting more advanced by the day!

This morning at breakfast, he asked if we could "set out a ball of lettuce for the Melanorosaurus to eat because they're herbivores."

And at dinner tonight, he informed me that we had 8 pieces of garlic bread and 4 people in our family, so that means each person could have 2 pieces.

He can read some words and can spell out words and write them pretty well, too.

Since when did our little guy learn how to do math?? and phonetics?? and science?? and I kid you not, he knows all technical names of almost all the dinosaurs complete with all the facts about them (height, weight, eating preferences, etc).

This little guy is such a joy!
