Andrew and I took Jasper to the Ohio State Fair on Saturday and a great time was had by all!
We ate, we played, we giggled, we walked, we sweat buckets, we watched parades, we ate some more, and we sweat more buckets (temp of 95 but heat index of over 100 and VERY humid).
But the most exciting part for me was the anticipation of seeing the animals. Being a farm girl, I really, REALLY wanted Jasper to see and interact with some animals while we were there. However, the only animals we could find were the rabbits, in cages far above Jasper's head, and the roosters.
With great parental enthusiasm, Andrew and I just gushed to Jasper about how awesome the roosters were going to be. We talked about how God made the roosters, how they were just awesome, how they made cool sounds, how they loved to walk around and be goofy. We were really working overtime selling the awesomeness of roosters to our son.
Well, we approach our first rooster. Jasper stared at the rooster. The rooster stared at Jasper.
After much motionless staring on behalf of both the rooster and Jasper, Jasper looked up at me and very tiredly signed "all done." I can't really blame the guy.
Yay for the fair! And by "rooster" we definitely mean "turkey." We did see roosters too but they were up on tables and Jasper couldn't really see them...
