Snow day!!

We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning; absolutely beautiful!! I had high hopes of romping in the snow with Jasper, teaching him how to throw snowballs, making snow angels, etc. So we bundled up, which took us half an hour, ventured outside, and we both were absolutely in heaven!!! I love. love. love snow. Absolutely love it.!

But why was Jasper in heaven, you ask?? Was it the snow?? The white fluffy stuff practically begging to be played in???

Nope. No way. Nada.

He was in heaven because he saw his cart. His cart!!!! Can you believe it?? His cart. He's had this cart for almost a year and has pushed it every day for almost a year. This cart is not a new toy. This cart is an old, beat up toy that is very common around here. We see and push his cart all the time. I can't believe that with all our winter wonderland around us, Jasper still only wanted his cart!!

Not only did he not want to play in the snow, he got drastically freaked out if the snow even touched him. BUT.... his strong will came bursting out in all it's ugly glory and he insisted on pushing his cart on the street (a new-ish activity for him). So... with 10 inches of snow, all schools and some businesses in Columbus canceled, a thick layer of ice, freezing cold temperatures, and bundled up like a little Eskimo, Jasper pushed his cart down our street. Mind you, there very few other vehicles or bikes of any kind driving around our neighborhood due to the treacherous conditions, but there was Jasper, pushing his cart.

Did he go a little ways? nope. Did he just go around the block? nope. He went over 1 mile!! I couldn't believe it!!! It was tough going pushin' that crazy cart through blizzard-like conditions, but like I said, he has a strong will and was quite determined. Even though I let Jasper push his cart for over 1 mile, he stilled cried like crazy when I made him go inside.

He's now completely zonked out in his crib. For hopefully a long while. Poor little guy is quite tuckered out.
