a few Jasper-isms

This post is totally boring and it's just b/c I don't want to forget some of the things going on in Jasper's life right now. I'm also in a huge hurry, so everything's going to have bad grammar and be misspelled. I just don't want to forget....

- he pronounces his name "Baber" and says it all the time. IE "Baber's spoon. Baber's ork. Baber's cup." Sometimes, if he's not sure if something is his or not, he asks me in the sweetest, high-pitched tone, "Babers???"

- the most special treats that Jasper enjoys right now: smarties, watching dump truck videos on youtube, watching helicopter videos on youtube, taking snoopy for a walk on the street, pushing his cart on the street, going outside after dinner and looking for the moon.

- he mimics everything I do. If sit down on the floor crosslegged, he sits down right beside me, hips touching, with his legs crosslegged. If I throw my head back and laugh, he does the same. If I say "wow!", he instantly says, "WOOW!!!". He mimics EVERYTHING! It's so so cute and completely humbling, because he is VERY quick to mimic the bad things I do, too.

- one bad thing I do: if I stub my toe, run into the wall, drop my phone, etc, I always always always instinctively say, "Oh shoot." Of course, Jasper has picked up on that instantly. So whenever he drops anything or does anything bad or sees me drop something, he says, "OHH doot! oh doot! Oh doot!" and I say, "Oh no! oh shoot (instinctively)! Oh Jasper! Don't say 'shoot'!" and he says, "Oh Baber! Doot! Baber! Oh doot!!" While I don't want him saying "shoot", it's absolutely adorable. Sometimes my heart just squeezes wtih how cute it is.

- Jasper is 100% a nurturer. He LOVES to take care of his toys, of babies he sees in the grocery store. He loves to give hugs. He gives hugs to everyone and everything! Recently, we found a tiny, crusty dead gnat on his window sill. Well, it's rocked his world. for the last 3 days, he's given this dead gnat his binky, froggy, food, wipes, a clean diaper, kisses, hugs, food, bran flakes, etc. He cares for this gnat better than most ppl care for their own family. he lives and breaths to take care of this gnat.

- typical meals= breakfast is branflakes and oatmeal. lunch is kidney beans straight from the can and carrot sticks. snack is oyster crackers and raisins. dinner is normally a nice, warm, healthy dinner. bed time snack is yogurt. Every once in a while, Jas can have a couple fruit loops for a special treat. Or smarties.

- We came home from bsf yesterday and I asked Jasper what he did in his class. He responded, "singing!! ah ah ah ah ah!" (his "ah ah ah's" was him singing.)

- he loves to play but he MUST be in the same room as me or he has meltdowns. He's getting better though.

- Because of our 3 walks a day, most of the neighborhood knows and loves Jasper.

- Jasper loves to pretend things are huge. He pronounces it, "oooge." and he walks around, carrying a tiny little pebble, acting like he's straining really hard to carry it, and says, "oooge. oooge! oooge!!" all the time.

I'll add more later, so many little things I don't want to...

oh wait! another one:
- Jasper loves to be the one to pray at meal time. His prayer is always the same and is:

"Dear God. Thank you for this food. I love you. Amen." but it comes out like this:

"God. food. Wuv ooo. Men!!" Melts my heart every.single.time.

Ok- more later.

oh wait. He LOVES birds and squeels with joy when he gets to see one. He says, at the top of his lungs, "Bwurd! Bwurd! I love how he says bird.

- last one. This mondya morn, he woke up and realized that he can put 2 or more words together at the same time. Now he's talking with multiple words and makes almost a whole sentence at times. love it!

a few more:

- When I ask Jasper what song he wants me to sing, he either says Bus, Baber, Ohhh!, or saved. he loves having me sing and is always asking for one of those 4 songs.

- bus = The Wheels on the Bus
- Baber = Jesus Loves the Little children (but I say the little "Jasper's" instead of little children)
- Ohhh! = Bless the Lord, Oh my soul, Ohhh my soul... Worship His holy name. (10,000 reasons)
- Saves = Jesus, You have saved me. Taken all my sin, all my sin away. (My God I have not chosen You)

- When out and about driving, I'll say, "Jasper, what street comes 1st when we're going home?" he says, "Broad street!!" and I'll say, "then what do we turn on?" and he says. "Ampton Street" (aka Southampton Street), and then I say, "And what's on Southampton Street?" and he says, "HOME!!!!"

- Jasper loves to divide his bran flakes into 2 piles. One pile is all the circles and 1 pile is all the ovals. He does a spectacularly good job at differentiating between all the circles and all the ovals.
