I've been teaching Jasper how to do lot so of stuff recently, like how to make food, turn on his audio book for nap time, turn on the computer and play his shows on Amazon Prime, unlock the car with the key fob, etc.
Anyway, this morning, Jasper turned on the computer and Curious George all by himself while I was cleaning up the kitchen. He called me into the room, turned to me with this look of wonderment and excitement on his face, and so sweetly said,
"Mom! I can make popcorn all by myself... I can turn on Curious George all by myself.... I don't need you for nuffin' anymore!!"
As my heart shattered into a million pieces, I made a desperate attempt to keep him my baby for just a little bit longer, and said,
"but what about bacon?? Don't you need me around to cook you bacon??"
Jasper thought about it for a while, then said,
"well... maybe, but not really."
And that's when I realized.. my work here is done.
*wink*
That is too cute! It is sad when they start getting so big that they think they don't need you - on the other hand it is wonderful....
